Why MIT Bitcoin Expo Is Special

The Expo has been running since Bitcoin's early days and has maintained an unusually high standard of content throughout. Because it's organized by MIT students — some of the most technically capable young people in the world — the content tends to go deeper on protocol fundamentals and economic theory than most commercial conferences.

The academic setting also draws speakers who engage seriously with Bitcoin's theoretical foundations. You're as likely to hear a rigorous cryptographic proof as a market commentary — which is a feature, not a bug, for serious Bitcoiners.

Cambridge and Boston

Cambridge is one of the great intellectual cities of the world. MIT's campus is beautiful in April — spring is arriving, the Charles River is thawing, and the energy of the academic year is at its peak. Boston's Logan Airport is easily accessible, with direct connections from across the US and major international hubs.

The Expo typically runs across two days in April. For anyone in the Northeast US, it's an essential annual event. For international visitors, combining it with bitcoin++ Nevada (April 23–24) and Bitcoin 2026 (April 27–29) makes for an extraordinary April Bitcoin trip.
