Why the Cap Matters

Bitcoin 2027 will draw somewhere north of 20,000 people to Nashville. BTC Prague draws close to 10,000. Those events are worth attending for reasons of scale — the expo floors, the announcements, the sheer density of the industry in one building.

The Sovereign Summit is doing the opposite on purpose. A thousand people is small enough that you will see the same faces on Friday morning, at the pool Friday afternoon, and at dinner Friday night. That repetition is what actually turns a conference contact into a working relationship, and it is the thing large events structurally cannot deliver.

Thursday, February 4 — Bitcoin Fundamentals, an add-on day aimed at newcomers and anyone who wants the groundwork before the main program. VIP Welcome Reception in the evening for VIP holders.

Friday, February 5 — Day one of the main conference: main stage, expo floor, workshops area, and open source area. The Oceanfront Soiree is a VIP-only event that evening.

Saturday, February 6 — Day two of the main conference, followed by the Summit After Party.

Sunday, February 7 — The Satoshi Farewell Brunch, an add-on for Summit Pass holders and included for VIP.

The Venue

The Fontainebleau opened in 1954 to a Morris Lapidus design and has been a Miami Beach landmark ever since — it is on the National Register of Historic Places and is a designated Miami landmark. The Coastal Convention Center is the newer meeting facility on the property.

Practically speaking: the hotel is oceanfront on Collins Avenue, roughly 20 minutes from Miami International and about 35 from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood. Early February in Miami Beach runs in the mid-70s Fahrenheit with low humidity, which is the best weather the city gets all year and the reason February conference season exists there at all.
