Why This Conference Is Different

Most Bitcoin conferences discuss adoption. Plan ₿ Forum El Salvador happens inside a country that made Bitcoin legal tender. The agenda reflects that: nation-state adoption, economics, financial freedom, and freedom of speech, discussed by people who have spent years working through the practical consequences rather than theorizing about them.

The attendee mix reflects it too. When the 2025 edition sold out at roughly 2,500 tickets, about half went to Salvadorans. That is an unusual ratio for an international Bitcoin conference, and it changes the character of the hallway conversations — you are talking to people who use Bitcoin in a functioning circular economy, not only to people who trade it.

Speakers and Programming

Past editions have drawn a strong roster: Paolo Ardoino of Tether, Adam Back of Blockstream, Elizabeth Stark of Lightning Labs, Samson Mow of Jan3, and Jameson Lopp of Casa, among others. The format runs keynotes, panels, and workshops alongside a Bitcoin art gallery and a startup and sponsor exhibition floor.

Language

This is one of the more accessible conferences for Spanish speakers. Programming runs in English with live Spanish translation, and recent editions added a stage running entirely in Spanish — the first Bitcoin conference in El Salvador to do so. If you have been putting off a Bitcoin conference because of the language barrier, this is a reasonable first one.

Getting There

San Salvador's El Salvador International Airport (SAL) has direct flights from Miami, Houston, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and several Central and South American hubs. Flight time from Miami is roughly three hours.

Late January is dry season in El Salvador — daytime highs in the mid-80s Fahrenheit, little rain, and comfortable evenings. If you are extending the trip, El Zonte on the Pacific coast is about an hour from the capital and is where the Bitcoin Beach circular economy started.

The Peer tier starts at $99, which is inexpensive relative to comparable international Bitcoin conferences. Higher tiers include additional access. As with most conferences, pricing steps up as the date approaches, so earlier is cheaper.
